Most of Kraft mill uses starch as a paper strengthener. Starch being hygroscopic has a major disadvantage of drop of burst factor during ageing and loss of stiffness and rattling. When DEONOL KP-10 is added in the system, it forms the bond with cellulose fiber and helps in maintaining the burst factor of the paper. Subsequently starch can be partially or fully removed to get the desired economy and BF.
